Aim
To provide coherent nomenclature for foot-and-mouth disease viruses including the definition and naming of topotypes, lineages, sub-lineages.
Terms of Reference
- Define and name topotypes for all foot-and-mouth disease virus serotypes.
- Establishing an operating framework to name new and emerging virus lineages (and sub-lineages if required).
- Propose common nomenclature to be used to describe foot-and-mouth disease virus samples, isolates and sequences.
