3. Dendogram (page 10; Analysis parameters and Sequences in the Phylogenetic tree are presented on pages 11-13).
The dendogram presents very close proximity to the Israeli cluster to strains SUD/4/2013 (99 percent), Giza 1/Egy/2016 and Ismailia 7/Egy/2016. (98 percent).

[The results are indicative of full similarity between the recent FMDV serotype O isolates from Gaza strip and Israel, and of their Egyptian/East-African origin. The very close similarity to a Sudanese strain is notable. According to media reports, the disease was introduced into the Gaza strip from Egypt by illegally imported livestock through tunnels between Sinai and the Gaza strip (see 20170316.4903671).
The outbreak in Nir-Yitzhak, adjacent to the Gaza strip, which reportedly started on 4 Feb 2017, has remained singular in Israel so far. This may be indicative of the efficacy of the vaccine applied for revaccinations around the infected dairy operation, and/or of the other zoosanitary measures applied. However, it is yet too early to declare the outbreak resolved.
Israel's single follow-up report on the event was submitted to the OIE on 23 Feb 2017; see at http://www.oie.int/wahis_2/public/wahid.php/Reviewreport/Review?reportid=22918. - Mod.AS
