Affected population: The area is close to Lengwe National Park, and this time the area has experienced drought as such feeding and watering is done at the interface with the park.
Epidemiology
Source of the outbreak(s) or origin of infection: Illegal movement of animals, contact with wild species, contact with infected animal(s) at grazing/watering points
Epidemiological comments: The infection is suspected from sharing watering and grazing points with wild buffaloes at the park interface with domestic animals.
Domestic control measures applied: Vaccination in response to the outbreak(s); surveillance within containment and/or the protection zone; surveillance outside containment and/or the protection zone; movement control inside the country; quarantine
