[Between August 2018 to September 2019, FMDV SAT 2 was responsible for the 76 outbreaks that occurred in Mashonaland Central and East. The outbreaks were due to contact with infected animals at grazing/watering and illegal movement of animals. These outbreaks involved cattle.

The control measures applied were movement control inside the country, vaccination in response to the outbreaks, surveillance outside containment and/or protection zone, surveillance within containment and/or protection zone, quarantine, official destruction of animals products, zoning, ante and post-mortem inspections.
